One culture, six countries: Bringing company values to life!

  • 390 employees
  • 3 languages activated across 6 different countries
  • 8 weeks of challenges

Dexia brings together financial professionals across Europe and the United States.
In partnership with Teamupp, the group launched a two-part initiative designed to make wellbeing and company culture part of everyday life — combining two connected four-week challenges to bridge digital and in-person engagement.

A series of shared experiences to move, learn, and grow together.

Whether it was the challenge on our company values or the one focused on wellbeing, our goal was to bring people together through fun, meaningful, and unifying activities. Everyone’s already looking forward to the next one!

A purpose-driven international financial group

Dexia is an international financial institution with offices in Paris, Brussels, London, New York, Rome, and Dublin. Its mission combines operational excellence and risk management to serve the public good.

The group’s four core values — agility, teamwork, commitment to the common good, and trust — guide every initiative.

In line with these principles, Dexia runs an ongoing employee wellness strategy focused on prevention, balance, and continuous development, reflecting both its professional standards and multicultural identity.

Turning wellbeing into a shared global movement

With hybrid schedules — up to three days of remote work per week — and teams spread between Europe and the US, Dexia wanted to tackle sedentary habits while reinforcing team cohesion during a period of transformation.

Their main goals were to:

  • Unite employees around shared, accessible challenges across time zones and languages (FR/EN/NL)
  • Encourage daily movement and physical activity for all, regardless of location or equipment
  • Bring Dexia’s core values to life through action
  • Showcase and reinforce the company’s commitment to employee wellbeing at a global level

To do so, Dexia focused its initiatives on 4 key employee wellness pillars:

  • Environment
  • Sport
  • Healthy eating
  • Personal wellbeing

Our aim was to strengthen the connection between our teams across countries while making our values tangible and alive in everyday work.

2 solutions, one shared purpose: improving employee wellness

Dexia rolled out two four-week connected challenges, combining team games, quizzes, and a fitness challenge that encouraged daily movement, with a fully multilingual platform and custom content built around the group’s four values.

Challenge 1 — Values & Leadership

A fully customized program combining physical activity and quizzes inspired by Dexia’s 4 core values.
As part of the quiz, employees were encouraged to choose a CSR action to bring to life in 2025 — focused on making a positive impact for the common good.

The central step challenge encouraged teams to move daily and build friendly, healthy competition between sites over four weeks.

Challenge 2 — Sport & Wellbeing (during employee wellness week in France)

Launched during France’s official Quality of Work Life Week (QWL), the second challenge focused on Dexia’s four wellbeing pillars: environment, sport, nutrition, and self-care.

This challenge integrated the Dexia Climate School into the “Environment” module, which significantly boosted engagement and training completion rates.

The daily step challenge acted as the main theme, tying it all together — this time with a progressive weekly goal to keep motivation high.

Stronger connections, real wellbeing, lasting impact!

  • Stronger connections: Team challenges and group quizzes fostered collaboration and a renewed sense of unity across sites.
  • Sustained engagement: A mix of topics and formats kept employees motivated through both four-week programs — many already asked for another round.
  • Tangible wellbeing: The hybrid (digital + on-site) format boosted participation and made wellness part of daily routines.
  • Active learning: Integrating the Dexia Climate School drove a significant increase in course participation and completion.
  • Values in action: Agility, cohesion, commitment, and trust came to life through collective experiences — leaving employees with a deeper sense of belonging.
